Following the Galaxy S24 non-One UI 7 beta devices, the company also released the December 2024 security patch for the Galaxy S24 FE. Currently, the update is rolling out in the European region, which is expected to be available in other regions in the coming days.

Only some Galaxy devices have received the December 2024 update, which includes the Galaxy Z Fold 6, Flip 6, and Galaxy S24 series. This latest update has now also been released for the Fan Edition of the Galaxy S24.

The December 2024 update for the Galaxy S24 FE brings a new mode in Auto Blocker. This new maximum restriction function is now added in Auto Blocker. After turning on this option, your Galaxy device will only charge from any USB-connected device, and no data or information will be transferred.

The December 2024 Android security update addresses more than 48 vulnerabilities in Galaxy devices. These patches fix security bugs and issues to ensure better security of the device. Users should install these security updates as soon as possible.

However, the update can be identified with the new build number S721BXXS3AXK6, and users will have to download an approximately 284.17 MB package to install. To check the update availability manually Users can navigate to Settings > Software update > Download and install.

Last week the Galaxy S24 series received the One UI 7 beta program, but their Fan Edition has to wait much longer to taste the One UI 7 features. The last update of the Galaxy S24 FE was the November security patch, and today, with the December security update, it’s now more secure.

Moreover, the Galaxy S24 is running on Android 14 based on One UI 6.1, and the device is eligible for 7 more Android upgrades, so it will get major upgrades up to Android 21. Also, the device will get security support until 2031.
