Google extends software support for Pixel 6 and 7 series
Recently, Google has announced an extended software support policy for its Pixel 6, Pixel 7, and Pixel Fold series, providing users with two years of additional Android OS upgrades and security updates.

Pixel 6 and Pixel 7 now have longer software support for Android OS
The Search tech giant recently refreshed its OS support plan for older Pixel phones. The company is committed to providing five years of software support for the Pixel 6, Pixel 7, and Pixel Fold series, including Android OS upgrades, security updates, and regular feature drops.
No other major smartphone brand extends such a set level of support and longevity. This makes these phones a more durable smartphone option, as they will remain safe and perform well for up to 2 years more.
Let us tell you that the extended software support starts from the date when the device was first made available on the Google Store in the US. For illustration, the Pixel 6 launched in October 2021 will be supported till 2026. This indicates that the device is also expected to get Android 17 OS.
