This new update installs the latest Android security patch to improve system security and stability. however, this patch does not bring any new features or changes but makes your device more secure and reliable. It fixes dozens of security flaws found in previous versions of the software running on phones and tablets
The December 2024 security patch fixes over 45 vulnerabilities, of which 34 are Google’s and the rest are Samsung’s. These include Theme Center, Galaxy Watch Bluetooth, SmartSwitch, Dex Mode, and more.
This is a gradual rollout so it may take a few hours or days to reach all models. If you are using a Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 smartphone then you can get the latest update via Settings >> Software update >> Download and install.
These sixth-generation foldable smartphones are currently running on One UI 6.1.1 based on Android 14. After the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S25 series, it will get its first major One UI 7 update based on Android 15 next year.
